About Us—first, there was RAMAC
The Racine Area Manufacturing and Commerce (RAMAC) was formed in 1982 from the consolidation of the Racine Area Chamber of Commerce and the Manufacturers' and Employers' Association.
RAMAC is a voluntary, nonprofit association whose primary source of operating income is the dues paid by member firms. It is wholly independent and serves as a central source of information and data on a wide variety of business problems and issues affecting its members. RAMAC has an experienced and knowledgeable staff, well equipped to assist its membership of over 750 firms – small and large.
RAMAC is the largest single voice representing the interest common to every small and large industry, profession, service and retail business, and community organization in the Racine area. Through RAMAC, these employers form a powerful alliance to accomplish its mission as follows.
- To strengthen and maintain a solid and diversified economic base, one that ensures a healthy business climate and a prosperous, progressive community.
- To promote and protect the fundamentals of the private free enterprise system as the foundation of our nation.
- To help its members manage more effectively, efficiently, and productively by excelling in the delivery of Personnel, Research, and Management Training Services.
- To provide the necessary business leadership and service in the cooperation with other public and private sectors aimed at improving the quality of life in the Racine area.
Then there was RNA
In response to requests from RAMAC members, the first RAMAC Network Alliance (RNA-1) was formed in 2003 with the help of RAMAC President, Roger Caron. RNA-1 is a networking & referral group that meets once a week to discuss business. We are RNA-2: an exclusively business-to-business group. To view our members please visit our directory.
